Starting from 01/06/2026, an allocation number will be required for every invoice exceeding ₪5,000 before VAT.
Starting from 01/06/2026 – An Important Change in Invoice Issuance in Israel
Businesses issuing tax invoices exceeding ₪5,000 will be required to obtain an Allocation Number from the Israel Tax Authority as a condition for VAT recognition and input tax deduction.
What does this mean in practice?
Without an Allocation Number, the customer may not receive full recognition of the expense and VAT deduction
The requirement applies to invoices above ₪5,000 before VAT
The Allocation Number is issued through the Israel Tax Authority system or via supported accounting software
It is strongly recommended to verify now that your accounting system is updated and ready to comply with the new regulations
Businesses that do not prepare in advance may face:
• Delays in issuing invoices
• Collection and payment issues
• Customers refusing to accept invoices without a valid Allocation Number
